Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.)
This course was introduced by the University of Mumbai in the year 1999-2000.· With the growing demand for professionally qualified management executives, the course has been especially designed to create middle cadre management personnel.
It is a three-year degree course, with six semesters, managed by a full-time and visiting faculty drawn from the Industrial and Service sectors.· The College is committed to providing in-depth training using the latest equipment in computers, practical experience, industrial visits and summer placements, wherever possible.
A candidate, for being eligible for admission to the B.M.S. degree course shall have passed the XII std. Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto at one and the same sitting and should have secured not less than 60% marks in case of students belonging to the General Category, not less than 55% in the case of students belonging to the Minority category and not less than 50% marks in the case of students belonging to Reserved Category.
Applications for admission to the First Year BMS will have to be done through an online system available on our website at www.xaviers.edu on the Homepage, from the 1st of May to the 1st of June 2011.·Please read the Notice on the Website Homepage for more details. The actual admissions will begin only after the declaration of results of the XII in Mumbai.
Students passing the H.S.C. or any other examination conducted by Boards/Universities outside MaharashtraState, should apply to the college for a provisional eligibility certificate. To apply for this one has to display the original Mark sheet at the College office, along with 2 photocopies of the same. For confirmation of the eligibility, students should submit to the College Office, before the close of the first Semester, the Statement of Marks, the Passing Certificate and the Migration Certificate.
At the time of admission the student must submit the following documents in original along with duly attested photocopies.
1. H.S.C. Marksheet
2. Baptism Certificate (For the Minority community - Christians)
3. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
4. Documentary Evidence regarding special category status:
Special Category consists of:
· Wards of Transferred State/Central Govt. and Pvt. Sector employees, wards of employees of Defence ·Dept./ex-service personnel, wards of Freedom Fighters, physically handicapped candidates, and students who have met with accidents.
· AWARD WINNERS at the District/State/National Level in Sports or cultural activities.

i)·Total number of lectures per theory paper shall be minimum of 50 and a maximum of 55, each of 50 minutes duration.
ii)·For the project work, the teacher shall initially engage about 5 lectures for an orientation.· The students shall visit the field for data collection and analyze the same.· Before the report is finalized the students shall present their findings to the faculty wherein the faculty shall provide guidelines for finalization.
