The department of Economics has organised and conducted many activities during the academic year 2014-2015 ranging from a number of lecture series to National Conferences. These activities have benefitted not just the students but also the faculty in terms of their academic excellence. The details of our activities have been listed as follows:

• An industrial visit was organised on 9th September, 2014 to Pimpri- Chinchwad industrial belt, Pune in which 250 students participated.

• St. Xavier’s - Jaipur exchange program for faculty and studentsa batch of 20 TYBA students and faculty from 9th to 16th November, 2014

• The Economics departmental festival- ‘Econundrum’ is an inter-collegiate and national level program conducted by the Economics department every year. Students from all over India participated in this 3 day program held in the third week of December, 2014

• For the current academic year the theme of our annual Khandala seminar was ‘Interdisciplinary Approach in Research’ and it was ECONOMICS-COMMERCE 84 held in the second week of January 2015. 35 students presented their research papers presented at the Seminar.

• ‘Demystifying Derivatives’: a 1 week course on derivatives was held for students in collaboration with BSE Mumbai in the third week of January, 2015.

• A special Course on Mathematical Economics was organised and 70 students participated to learn more about Mathematical Economics.

• A National Conference on ‘Efficacy of Indian Economic Policies’ (UGC sponsored) was held on 6th and 7th February, 2015. Around 100 students participated and 30 outsiders presented their papers.

• A guest lecture series was organised for the benefit of students throughout the year and this lecture series saw the department invite well known personalities both at the national and international level

• The Lalit Doshi Memorial Lecture was delivered on 22nd February, 2015 by Prof. Errol D’souza, Professor at IIM Ahmedabad.
